Onwards, Towards a Distant Light....

Today has been another good day – once again I fasted all day (since yesterday evening) – which gave me the energy, time and focus to concentrate on some of my projects I have been working on. My plan each day has been to fast until I reach a break through...and it always works.

It is amazing what an empty stomach can accomplish! LOL

And I am so pleased to say my little Rebel Food Shop is up (well, nearly) and ready to go. It is something I have been doing in the background for several years now in a limited way – not really certain what way to go.

Now I am moving forward and happy to be sharing some more of my favourite family recipes, foods, remedies, healing herbs and spreading the magic where ever I can in new ways.

Check out my Rebel Food On-Line Shop on my main blog for details on some of my foods as well as how to order in Ireland…outside of Ireland – well, we can work out the details! Bear in mind it is a work in progress and more links and details will be posted shortly. In the meantime, please email, text or ring with any queries.

Because April is kind of my ‘month’ – I generally take stock of who I am, how far I’ve come and where I would like to be in my life, around this time of year. Spring sort of does that to us as well - everything else on the planet is changing so.... Wake up and shake up.

I am happy with my progress over this past year – there have been steady (even through it may appear too slow) changes around me and I am not in the same place I was in. Not even from one month ago…so much has shifted and taken root.

Over the years I have seen my entire life stripped down to nothing – leaving everything behind as we walked forward, towards a distant light, a single brightness that was often cast in shadow.

Even now, I still marvel at how a dream can keep you going, a tiny pinpoint of energy can grow a seed and how when life takes hold – it will sweep you up in it’s embrace and never let you go.

What kind of year are you planning on having?

It really all is about remembering who we are, finding our selves again after so long and then allowing those returning parts of us to rejoin and open up. Today is the last day of Christmas - Three Kings Day or Little Christmas here in Ireland.

And of course a feast day for us - the twelfth day of this lovely season usually is celebrated in a traditional sense with a spicy drink and a meal. And as this is an official way to mark the ending of something - the trees come down.

It's hard to believe we are already into 2013 and moving forward into another year of..... what? For some this will be another few months of nothingness and the same old version of each and every year. While for others, those who have been working hard at putting their dreams into a framework - things may just start to fall into place...

But either way, there is an opportunity for great change - we stand with the door open to opportunity - however we must be willing to take a chance and walk through to the other side. So, I guess the key word here is trust.

When we are asked to trust in something outside of ourselves - life becomes quite difficult. If I have learned anything over these past few years it's this single thing...I am to trust in my body, mind and soul to take me where I need to go (read my free birth story).

One of the main reasons I am doing these detoxes is to get back into places, spaces and regions of my body I have long been pushed out of (or have never even occupied). Once I am back in there, my task is to get to know that part of me and then to trust in my body to do all it needs to do.

Of course any type of inflammation will push you out of your body - and this is one of the most prevalent problems in our world right now. We are all walking around with varying degrees of low level chronic dysfunction due to poor diet, lack of exercise and taking medications which create this situation.

We will find it increasingly more difficult to trust when we are out of our bodies in any way... and even more so, as long as we take these poisons that lock the doors...

It's time to choose...trust in your body, listen to it's needs and make the changes necessary for health or carry on and have another year just like the last ones....

Day 11 of My Detox

So, here I am on day 11 of my December detox and boy this is rocking now! All week I have had it easy, thinking this is great (it was) hardly any major symptoms and just rolling along....well now, it's finally moving.

Kids are down with coughs and colds, no one is getting any sleep, plus it's the week before Solstice and I am up to my ears (self imposed) with cooking, cleaning and organizing. Just because I really wanted to do one main thing this time around....

I want these few days to arrive and for me to not spend each and every day standing in the kitchen baking, cooking, planning, organizing and wondering about the meals, treats, desserts and goodies we are going to enjoy.

Part of this is because I love doing all of these things so much - and I want everything to taste divine...

What I would like to happen is to have most of that wonderful food already sorted, cooked, baked, planned and ready for us - so that I can just focus on the main meals but have some idea of each day and what we can eat. These meals are such a big deal - this is our big celebration for the year and of course we are all together for the week.

I don't know about you, but I have days where I spend all my time preparing the food, organizing children, cleaning, getting everyone sorted and by the time I sit down to eat my dinner I am too tired to enjoy it. This is mostly because I am 'catering' to everyone during our feast times and want to make the meals very special.

This year I have thought about it and decided some of our food can be wonderful and prepared ahead of time. This would give me far more time to eat (can't wait!), cook a little, enjoy my free time and perhaps get to read a book, watch a dvd or go for walks in the sunshine (fingers crossed).

To this end, I have been keeping myself busy during my detox - making everything I can think of that we might need, want, desire or dream of during our Solstice feast. I've never been so organized in my life! LOL

Now on Day 4 of Master Cleanse

This is day 4 of my cleanse and as per usual, absolutely everything has fallen into place - not that I expect smooth sailing throughout this entire detox but the adjustment period is over. I always refer to these first 3 days as shifting into 'detox mode'.

So, now that I am in this space - I feel as if I am flying it! LOL I have lots of energy, did a great workout this morning, slept well last night and feel better then 'myself' (whateverthatmeans). It's as if this level of clarity rises up from some deep place...

Right now I have some detox symptoms - my tongue is coated, my skin is a little itchy, my hair is limp and heavy and the first 3 days my energy levels were ok but I did feel a little tired overall. Today, I feel better and very creative.

And of course when I feel creative, I get into the kitchen to do some cooking - already today I have made a spelt bread (herbed with seeds) and some muesli to fill up our jars. We always look forward to these treats when we are finished our cleanses.

Over the coming week I hope to get all of my baking done for our next feast - a big one coming up at the end of the month - Samhain. We enjoy each of these celebrations and this one will be no exception - such a magical time of the year.

It's hard to believe that this year is closing in on us fast and furious - and what a year it has been! So far I have done 6 Master Cleanses and hope to complete 8 by the end of the year. At first I thought it would be far more of a challenge, but actually it has been one of the most grounded and productive years of my life.

Perhaps next month and during December we will extend the number of days once again - just to see how much more shifts and changes for us. Doing the 10 days is great, however to get at the emotional roots of some issues, it does take a little longer.

Aiming higher!

April
