Using Clay to Heal & Seal the Gut

Some thing I use a lot of here and cannot recommend it enough, is clay. Of course there are so many different types and kinds of clay; French Green Clay, Diatomaceous Earth, Bentonite Clays, Fuller's Earth, Red Clay, Kaolin and so forth….but their basic use is often the same.

Clays pull, encourage movement and remove toxins, wastes & debris from both your internal and external systems. They tighten up the membranes while gently sloughing off the uppermost layers of cells as they move along on the inside and pull toxins out of your skin allowing detox on the outside.

In fact on the inside, they work much the same way as a clay mask on your face would do. Only this 'mask' is a moving flow of minerals being propelled along your digestive tract along with your food.

The one important point that I have discovered and then have been able to confirm, is how some of these clays work over time to heal and seal the gut. Remember how I have mentioned over these past few years my observation in myself and many others that our guts were never set up properly from birth?

Well, this has to do with the fact that the biofilm and internal covering containing the living matrix of bacteria (mainly) are either too thin on the ground,  are made up of some non-beneficial types of organisms and in general have been not functioning in a health sustaining way.

Thus, we see far too much of childhood eczema, asthma, allergies, tummy troubles and then later on – far worse conditions, all relating back to this most basic necessity of a functioning gut. In fact, our immune systems never kick into high gear when our internal environment is not fully operational as well.

What needs to happen for many of us is to heal and seal these gaps, spaces and places in our digestive tract that have never fully functioned from infancy. Only then will we see significant progress in our health and healing.

Clay is an amazing natural part of any healing regimen when it comes to the skin - inside and out.

A Slow Summer Day and Digestion

When the sun shines, everything gets better. That about sums up how all of Ireland feels at the moment (at least where the weather is concerned!). It is great to finally get some sun, heat and a real summer.

And we are thankful for it. Now…..on to other things! LOL

This week I am back fasting actually (just a little bit) for a day or two here and there. It is the perfect weather for taking a break from food, because it is warm, sunny and easy to manage without spending time thinking about and preparing meals.

Really, now that I am thinking about it – I remember days gone by when I used to live in southern Ontario – and the heat! It was ungodly hot during some of those summers and guess what?

Digesting food was a little more difficult. It was as if my tummy slowed down or something….I just wanted to sip on water and clear fluids – but eating on those long hot days…..just left me feeling uncomfortable in myself.

Of course, there is always a place for food – but as the weather changes outside of us, it shifts and alters on the inside as well. On a hot day such as this, we all feel a little sluggish, we may move more slowly (to avoid sweating!) and feel like taking it easy.

Perhaps this is a great message from deep within the inner workings of our digestive systems (yes we are paying attention). These summer days are better suited towards refreshing fluids and little else…..thus making us feel more comfortable in the heat….

After all, digesting a meal generates more heat in an already hot body….it also uses up loads of energy to try moving food through and doesn’t help with our summer waistlines.

So….it’s back to a little fasting for me. And you know what? I feel better (and cooler) already.

Ride the Wave or Sit it Out

Today is day 6 of my detox and I am feeling great - in fact I am feeling far better right now then any other time I have done these cleanses...and this time around I am only taking herbal tea and water. So, go figure!!

We have been busy discussing how different we feel right now, just to compare these experiences - the main areas that have changed are in focus and clarity, but physically our energy levels are more steady and there are actually less negative symptoms.

So, this is a great way to go once the majority of the loose toxins are removed (from doing a few Master Cleanses), this gets at the deeper underlying tissues and issues. Which is what a cleanse or a detox is all about and makes it so worthwhile.

When it comes to excess weight, health issues, emotional problems, negative patterns and all sorts of things that might hold us back - it is always the right time to deal with them. Over the years I have done all of the 'right' things to get moving forward, however nothing has worked quite like fasting.

The reason I have found it works so well is because your body, mind and spirit can focus on the work at hand - while your energy is not being diverted to other things. Of course, some of these other things would be digestion (takes up to 70% of our energy).

Right now the energy is also right to be moving forward - this is the year for change and it is taking place everywhere. We can't help but be swept up along with some of these waves of energy as they come rolling over us.

A cleanse will enable you to clearly see the direction you need to go, as well as some of the energy shifts taking place on the earth. You are then in a position to see, understand and decide what is best for you and to ride the wave or sit one out.

You can't lose.

Now into My Third Day! Talking Gut Bacteria....

This morning brings me to day 3 of this Master Cleanse and usually by this point the worst of the adjustment into detox mode is over with, especially the early symptoms and getting used to having an empty digestive system.

And that is one topic I thought worth mentioning because I am asked about this so often. Of course what better time to ponder hunger and empty stomachs but when doing a cleanse and cleaning out the body!

For me, at this point in time, after having done many cleanses and detoxes, hunger has a completely different meaning as well as several identifiable feelings now associated with it, that I never knew before. Perhaps they were always there, however, I was not aware of them and certainly not able to distinguish between stages, senses and the meaning of hunger.

Right now I am not hungry - yes my stomach is sort of empty (on a Master Cleanse I drink a lemonade drink of my own formula), but the tissues of my body are not 'hungry' or even remotely close to starving. There are calories coming into my body, I have good levels of energy and I am most likely burning excess fat.

I have only once in my life experienced what I would term as real hunger - when I did my 40 days Master Cleanse and even then, it was a physical sensation and not a mental pattern. But, it was also part of the overall detox process and my body was onboard with that.

I don't believe that any of us know how to distinguish between these feelings unless we start fasting, detoxing, cleansing regularly and take the time to get to know our bodies at this level. This is an amazing process in an incredible system.

I have found that the hunger I used to experience, where I simply could not wait for food and would just 'eat anything because I had to have something immediately' - was not hunger, that was emotion, emptiness and frustration.

What is worse, it wasn't mine - it was energy picked up from others, patterns learned throughout my childhood and an expression of hormonal imbalance brought about from overgrowth of fungus, mold, nasty bacteria and vaccine viruses and so forth.

Our bodies have become little factories for biological life forms that shouldn't be there. We are crawling with bugs that wouldn't inhabit our guts and tissues under normal circumstances and when these creatures want to eat - they want it now.

What is worse, they want junk, oils, fats, sugar (don't all aliens?) and all manner of rubbish for the quickest fix possible. Does any of this sound familiar?

When we choose or feel compelled or can't stop ourselves from gobbling these non-nutrients we are not feeding ourselves, our bodies cannot make nutrients where non exist. We are feeding this imbalance of non-commensual organisms within our guts, that should not be there in the first place.

However, they have placed themselves at the top of the food chain and are running the show. This is what a Master Cleanse can do - start to break down this detrimental hierarchy, regain control of body function and digestive processes.

All the while we are learning how to listen to our bodies, distinguish between real hunger, choosing the right foods and of course repopulate our guts with heathy, normal bacteria that work with us, instead of against us.

All this, and it's only day 3!! LOL

Have a healthy day,

April
